Workshops & Residencies

I design immersive, participatory experiences that use improvisation, theater, and ensemble-based practices to build connection, creativity, and collaboration. Offerings can be adapted for artists, organizations, academic institutions, and communities.

Building the Ensemble

Before a production begins, an ensemble begins to take shape. Inspired by ensemble-based theater traditions and collaborative approaches to performance-making, these workshops use improvisation, movement, and group exercises to help casts develop trust, presence, and a shared creative language. Rather than focusing on performance technique, sessions cultivate the conditions that support authentic collaboration—deep listening, creative risk-taking, responsiveness, and connection. Designed for film, television, and stage productions, ensemble-building helps artists create the foundation for more truthful, dynamic work.

Theater for Social Change

Theater has long been a catalyst for empathy, dialogue, and civic imagination. This workshop explores ensemble-based practices that invite participants to examine power, identity, justice, and belonging through embodied learning and collaborative play. Rooted in improvisation and devised theater traditions, participants build trust while engaging with complex social questions in ways that encourage curiosity rather than certainty. Particularly suited for theater departments, social justice programs, and interdisciplinary learning environments.

Creative Collaboration

Great teams, like great ensembles, are built on trust, communication, and the ability to respond together. Through improvisation and collaborative theater practices, this workshop helps teams strengthen listening, creativity, adaptability, and connection. Participants step outside traditional workplace dynamics to practice presence, risk-taking, and more authentic collaboration. Designed for team retreats, leadership gatherings, and organizations seeking a more human-centered approach to connection and innovation.

Story in Motion

Stories come alive when we move beyond ideas and into embodied experience. Through improvisation, movement, and collaborative storytelling practices, participants explore character, perspective, and connection in a playful, supportive environment. This workshop invites artists and storytellers to take creative risks, strengthen presence, and discover new ways of bringing stories to life. Inspired by ensemble-based theater traditions, Story in Motion is designed for actors, students, educators, and creative communities.
